Commercial Buildings:
We often collaborate with general contractors for construction projects and provide services to many commercial facilities all year round. We handle everything from fixing lighting to installing fire alarms for schools, churches, offices; you name it.
Industrial Facilities:
Food processing, metal shops, chemical plants, distribution warehouses, etc. We understand the sensitivity of working in these fast paced environments, working safely and effectively to provide the client what they need on time every time. We provide power wiring, technical services, automation upgrades, service upgrades, and troubleshooting, McKinley can help.
Institutional Work:
We work with healthcare providers and facilities such as FHS, VCH, and PHSA, as well as nursing homes, detention centers, etc. Our employees receive training for “infection control” to ensure we can work in these sensitive environments. Safety for patients health and employees well being are factors that need to be considered.
BC Hydro Powersmart:
We’ve been proud members of BC Hydro Alliance for many years. We guide our clients through the process of qualifying for rebates and understanding the cost and value of proceeding. ROI guides a business decision, and we give you the information needed to make that decisions easy. Projects will be fully costed out with the anticipated energy savings, proposed rebate and estimated reduction in maintenance cost. Enjoy the benefits of new lighting in your workplace, making it a brighter, better and more productive place to be. We have facilitated many energy-saving upgrades over the years, saving our clients money and improving their quality of life.
Generators:
If losing power will cause disruption to the health and productivity of people, then you need back up power. We have installed many generators over the years. We have provided design build services for many of these projects as well as installed them as part of larger engineered projects. We excavate the foundation, pour the concrete, install the generator and wire it all up…relax, we got this.
EV Chargers:
Where will we get the power? EV’s are here to stay and everyone is needing a plan. The solutions are unique and varied depending on if you are a single family home, townhome complex, condominium or commercial/industrial facility. Who are the chargers for, employees or general public? Will they be for convenience of owner, staff or create revenue. We can guide you, advise you and make your installation happen within your needs and budget.
What Else do we Do?
Service Upgrades, panel replacements, switchgear retrofits, power factor correction, and high-voltage unit substations just to name a few more. Together with engineers and sub-trades, we provide turnkey projects tailored for our clients. We will help you plan your job, build your budget and create a solution that works for you.

We have replaced many 40+ year old units in Courthouses, Food facilities, office towers and more. We help you maintain load break switches, isolation disconnects and always sensitive to the clients productivity and schedule.

General Services
1. Infrared Scanning: McKinley Electric is a ticketed Level 2 Thermographer using the latest Fluke infra-red scanning technology. We’ll send you a full Fluke report highlighting any issues that require immediate or future action.
2. Power Analyzer: We use a sophisticated Fluke power analyzer to monitor and record your facility’s power characteristics over time – helping you make informed decisions on upgrades and changes necessary down the line.
